New Day, New Prospects

Here it is the 19th January, 2011...how fast the last 12 months have past, and how many life changing experiences have happened by. All of them I believe have caused me to view life, people and experiences a lot differently than say 24 months ago.

Yesterday would have been my father's 70th birthday, had he lived past September 2009. Wonderful memories, things I will treasure for a lifetime. Last night I "discovered" several quite moving, amazing and soulful blogs, causing me to begin my second one today. The title? All the delights of my life - my new little harpsichord on which I accompany a celloist from time to time, or just play it myself, for therapy and to keep my hand in. Harriet - is the feline person who cohabits my home. Very astute, we chat often..I don't believe I have ever had such a personable cat. Resolve to obtain video of the "myterious moving mouth" so you will all believe me!

My other delight at the moment is the tiny garden I have established in the last few months. Has been a nice diversion whilst I journey through breast cancer. A great deal of simple pleasure comes from success in the back yard...and some frustration: something is eating two of my magnolias! Have fertilised, mulched, spoken to and watered all of it....will win the battle over the destructive culprits soon.

Being forcibly away from work leaves time for reflection, contemplation, appreciation for blessings received and discoveries of simple pleasures every day.  Photos will come later...now I really have a project!

  1. Aha! You are blogging again! One of the truest saying I've heard is that you are closer to God in a garden than anywhere else on earth! Only came here after I'd commented on your other blog.....

  2. Dear Molly

Nice to meet you as well, and thank you for your kind words and thoughts. I will continue with this blog now - I feel I have found some wonderful blogs with whom I hope will also be in touch.
What a gift we have with this medium, that we can bare our souls (almost!) and share with people from anywhere & everywhere! Can only be good for us...

  3. Welcome to this new blog.
Yes blogging offers a wonderful chance to communicate with a wide variety of people and can be a form of therapy too. Yours will be what you decide it to be - whatever works for you.

I can relate to your words about your father. Mine died five years ago and would have been 82 today. The wonderful memories I have of him still feed me today.

I look forward to new posts on your blog.
I wish your magnolia well - can't offer any help though, I don't have green thumbs, can't keep a plant alive.
